The three pieces in this volume came from Twelve Pieces for Piano Solo, edited by John Michael Cooper and published in 2024 by ClarNan Press. When I heard the piano versions, I just wanted to play them myself! With Dr. Cooper's permission and encouragement they are now available as arrangements for violin and piano. 'Album Leaf' is a rich, romantic work, satisfying to listen to as well as play. 'Jolly Jinks' is lively and lighthearted, and 'Little Cabin Lullaby' is a tender, charming goodnight. The pieces can be adapted for violinists less comfortable with positions higher than 3rd by using less adventurous fingering in the first, not taking the optional 8va in the second, and using the alternate ending version of the third. Great for working on tone, phrasing, and ensemble, or played together as a suite! Links to videos below.
